Transitional Housing
This program is designed to provide housing assistance to recovering individuals and women coming out of incarceration or inpatient treatment. Recovering individuals usually face a harder time securing housing which is vital to their recovery and staying clean. This program will represent 40% of our efforts and will be implemented by staff appointees.
Summer & After School
Programs
The scope of this program is to begin to eradicate substance use among youths and young adults in our community. This program will provide educational training and provide the necessary skills and principles of drug prevention. We will include tutorials for on a variety of subjects and computer training. This program includes tutoring, GED preparation, field trips, and drug use prevention activities. This program will represent 20% of our efforts and will be implemented by staff appointees.
"Fearfully & Wonderfully Made" Girls' Group
The focus of this program is to teach self-esteem skills in an effort to prevent substance use, premature sexual activity, suicide and any other high risk behaviors among adolescents. This program can be facilitated during the summer or incorporated into after school programs with times consisting of Thursdays from 6pm-8pm. The scope of this program is to begin to eradicate substance use among youths and young adults in our community. This program will provide educational training and provide the necessary skills and principles of drug prevention. We will include tutorials on a variety of subjects and computer training. This program includes light dinner, field trips, and drug use prevention activities and motivational speakers. This program will represent 20% of our efforts and will be implemented by staff appointees.
"I CAN" Tuition Assistance Program
This program will provide scholarships for former substance abusers or ex-offender participants who wish to pursue a college degree. The premise of the program is the “I Can be anything I want to be. We will work to try to create cooperative agreements with four-year institutions to admit and retain the participants. The scope of this program will include financial assistance, assistance completing applications and paperwork and assistance with transportation. This program will represent 10% of our efforts and will be implemented by staff appointees.
Vocational Training & Skills Building
The scope of this program will assist participants in how to learn vocational trades and skills that the participants can use to support themselves. This program will operate in conjunction with a local community college to allow participants to receive vocational training. This program will represent 10% of our efforts and will be implemented by staff appointees.
Alcohol, Drug & Addiction Related Program Initiative
This program is designed to provide an atmosphere where abstinence from nicotine, drugs and alcohol use can become a reality. The scope of this program includes various forms of counseling and awareness of the elements of recovery and abstinence. The scope here is providing an atmosphere where psycho-education and medical attention can be provided and the candidates can begin to recovery from their illness. This program will represent 20% of our efforts and will be implemented by staff appointee.
